ABOUT
Therapy
It’s a space for the soul to share.
Many people come to therapy to help with current struggles or past experiences, but many also attend just to discuss their mindset or emotional challenges. Each person’s life experience is different and as we know sometimes life can be difficult to navigate. In a session you will be invited to share what you feel comfortable with, at your own pace and in your own style.
In therapy the therapist isn’t here to provide you with solutions, but by exploring your challenges together in a confidential safe space we can explore your individual situation. Engaging in this process can then lead to personal awareness and life changes.
Therapy can be challenging, but it can also be very rewarding. its not a quick fix, it’s more of a commitment to self discovery. I do not offer diagnosis or suggest a pathological connection, however if you already have a diagnosis then we can of course explore it further together. Usually we will agree to meet for one or two sessions online, then you can evaluate how you feel and book further sessions if you feel they will benefit you. There’s no pressure or obligation.
My qualifications
I am a fully accredited integrative Psychotherapist using Person-centered, Cognitive Behavioural, Existential and Psychodynamic approaches. This means that I will draw on those specific evidence based psychological and philosophical theories and approaches to assist with your presentation in therapy. Of course my own life experience will also shape how I am as a therapist.
For as long as I remember I have always been curious and interested in the human mind, our existence, how we tick, what makes us ‘us’, our specific behaviours & our individual life experiences. In your session we will explore your unique life experience.
My education in this area began with a Cert in Social Science, then an (hons) Psychology Degree, which led to a Post Graduate Diploma in People mgt and then on to a Masters Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I’m also pursuing a Doctorate in Psychotherapy and of course to stay relevant and informed I complete 50 hours of continuous professional development every year. Over the years I have also been involved with therapy teaching, training and academic supervision.
We all deserve to be respected, to be heard, to be supported and to be valued . Looking forward to meeting you :)
